Nami Yamamoto

Experienced business journalist, now Professor of Kyoto University of Advanced Science, teaching Leadership and Communication.

 

She served as media strategic advisor for TV Tokyo, one of the major Japanese TV Network and member of Nikkei Group which owns Financial Times.  She was in charge of data governance and government relations concerning data and privacy policy making until March 2023.

 

Yamamoto served as business correspondent and senior producer for TV Tokyo's World Business Satellite, the most popular and prestigious business news program in Japan. She has produced numerous interviews with key policy makers such as Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, Bank of Japan governor Haruhiko Kuroda.

 

On 2010, Yamamoto served as project manager for the launch of Nikkei Online, the most successful digital subscription news media in Japan.

 

As a former New York Correspondent for TV Tokyo(1998-2001), she produced interviews with Jack Welch, then CEO of GE, Steve Ballmer, then CEO of Microsoft, Larry Ellison, CEO of Oracle. She also covered the recount of the Presidential election 2000, reported from the debris of World Trade Center on 9.11.2001.
